Rebecca Covey is a designated Linklater Voice teacher, Equity Actor and Assistant Professor of Voice and Acting at Florida International University where she is the Resident Voice & Dialect Director. She holds an MFA from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a BFA and BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Her work as an actor has been seen in theatres across the Midwest, Miami and in Scotland, Australia, France. As a Dialect, Voice and Text coach she has worked with numerous professional theatres - most recently on Betrayal with Zoetic Stage Miami, A Minister’s Wife with GableStage and A Midsummer Night’s Dream for Milesquare Theatre in New Jersey. In addition to her training with Kristin Linklater, Rebecca has studied with Louis Collaiani,Claudia Anderson, Richard Armstrong, and Merry Conway. Rebecca’s research interests include embodied voice, language and culture, and neurodiversity.
